Tilias Café

The café is housed in an older building with period decor and a large garden, Stensiögården. At the café, you can enjoy a good cup of coffee or tea, a glass of juice, a bun, cake, ice cream, or a filling sandwich. The café is a central hub in the tourist destination Stensjö village, and you will contribute to making it a meeting place for everyone visiting Stensjö. The café has a vibe of the early 1900s, primarily using locally produced organic ingredients. The menu mainly consists of a coffee-cake-sandwich concept, with some simpler lunch dishes. There are also booked lunches or dinners for groups.

Opening Hours

Tilias Café is open Saturday-Sunday starting from week 8 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. From May 1 to August 30, the café is open Wednesday-Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in September-October it is open Saturday-Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and in December on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally, there are some program evenings throughout the year.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for someone to work as an assistant café manager during the summer season of 2026 and preferably also on weekends in spring and autumn. In your role, you will be involved in the service and development of the café in close collaboration with the café manager and other staff in the village. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing the best service and has a great talent for creating a welcoming atmosphere. You will handle all ongoing tasks in the café, such as customer service, receiving deliveries, dishwashing, cleaning, laundry, baking, and preparing sandwiches/lunches, etc.

In addition to ongoing tasks, you will have an extended responsibility to assist and, if necessary, replace the regular café manager during vacations and other absences. This includes additional tasks such as:

• Kitchen management
• Staff leadership
• Responsibility for orders and contact with suppliers
• Ensuring that routines are followed and legal requirements are met
• Supervision of 3 rental accommodations on the property

Qualifications

You should have a strong interest in customer service and preferably in baking and cooking with organic ingredients, utilizing seasonal produce (berries, fruits, vegetables, etc.). You must be at least 20 years old. As a person, you should be organized, structured, and good at leading and inspiring others. You must be genuinely committed to providing excellent service to our visitors. You should be able to work quickly without compromising quality.

You can work independently and intensely when required, while also being a team player who always has the best interests of Stensjö in mind and collaborates with other colleagues. An interest in cultural environments and older baking and cooking traditions is a plus.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English is required. Other languages are an advantage.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Meritorious:

• Good knowledge of hygiene and food legislation.
• Documented experience working in a café or restaurant
• Previous experience in leading groups or personnel responsibility

Employment

The position entails working 75–100% during the period from May 1 to August 30. If you can also work weekends in spring and autumn, that is an advantage. Training will take place in the spring in connection with the café's opening on weekends. The work involves scheduled working hours, including weekends and holidays. The position is a seasonal employment with hourly pay.

The overall manager of the operation is Ulrika Mebus, property manager of the Royal Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities, who primarily works from Stockholm. On-site in Stensjö village, the regular café manager Linn Engelholm is the supervisor.
